Back 2 School Festivals
Do you remember that feeling of going back to school with your shiny new pencils and cool notebooks? With your brand new sneakers and stylish clothes? I know I do. I remember that feeling of pride when I walked into school that first day with all my new gear ready to learn and grow!
Unfortunately, many of the students in Baltimore neighborhoods have never experienced this feeling. They are often lacking the basic supplies to learn and succeed. In response to this need we have created wonderfully successful Back to School Festivals with Hoops Tournament in Southwest Baltimore Neighborhoods. We partner with SAFE Alternative’s for Education to give out over book bags full of school supplies. But not only that, we give children and their parents a wonderful free festival to celebrate the end of summer and the beginning of the new school year. Plus students are surprised to find out that we fix their basketball courts complete with a beautiful mural. In 2014, the festival was held in Hollins Market and in 2015 the festival was held in Poe Homes. Scroll down to see pictures of our Back 2 School Festivals.
